Project Overview
Södersjukhuset, one of Stockholm’s largest healthcare facilities, embarked on an extensive renovation project in April 2022. The project’s goal is a complete overhaul of the hospital with a primary focus on safety, which previously earned it awards for best safety project.
Challenges
Before implementing ProjSite, the software used for transport management, significant logistical issues plagued the construction site. A turnaround area was frequently occupied by contractors, leading to delays and increased costs. Drivers sometimes had to leave without delivering materials, resulting in fines for missed deliveries. Transport coordination was inefficient, and waste management was problematic due to multiple contractors using different containers.
Solution
By using ProjSite, all transport could be planned and coordinated efficiently. The software became a mandatory tool for all involved contractors, ensuring that no transport could be carried out without approval in the system. This improved safety and reduced the number of conflicts on site. Additionally, ProjSite was utilized to enhance waste management by coordinating waste efficiently, which reduced the workload for environmental coordinators.
Results
The implementation of ProjSite led to more efficient transport planning and reduced project costs. Time and resources were saved through better planning and reduced on-site equipment needs. Furthermore, the project was able to maintain its high safety standards, which was one of the key objectives.
