Receiving, reservations and stock movements
Inventory operations track how material is received, reserved, released, transferred and adjusted.
Receiving material
Receiving can record material, quantity, unit, arrival, receiving location, storage location, related logistics activity and responsible participant.
Reservation
- Available stock
- Booking requires material
- Quantity reserved
- Activity completed
- Stock movement recorded
A reservation allocates stock to an activity without necessarily physically removing it.
Release, transfer and adjustment
Reservations can be released when no longer needed. Transfers move material between inventory contexts. Authorised users can make stock adjustments where supported, and changes should remain traceable.
Automatic inventory updates
Relevant booking status changes can automatically reserve, release or transfer stock and create stock history.
