    Truck Load Efficiency

Truck Load Efficiency is a Projsite metric describing how well load capacity is used on transports arriving at the project.

    What is Truck Load Efficiency?

In Projsite, Truck Load Efficiency is a utilisation measure for transport. It describes the relationship between the load capacity actually used and the capacity driven to the site.

    What it measures

The metric measures what a transport contains, not its punctuality or the value of its contents. Half-empty transports can be perfectly correct orders; the metric only shows that capacity was left unused.

    Why it matters

Load utilisation is where cost, working environment and climate impact meet. The same amount of material arriving on more and emptier transports means more gate passages, more unloading events, more traffic in the neighbourhood and more emissions, without the project receiving any more material.

    How to read the result

A low value is not automatically a fault. Some deliveries have to be small: urgent top-ups, sensitive products, special transport. What matters is the pattern. When the same supplier repeatedly runs lightly loaded transports to the same site, there is usually coordination to be gained.

    Practical example

Three subcontractors order material from the same wholesaler for the same week, each on their own. Three transports arrive, none of them full. Load utilisation reveals the pattern; the fix is coordinated ordering or consolidation, not more delivery rules.

    What affects the metric

    • Whether several parties order separately from the same supplier.
    • Ordering routines and how far in advance material is ordered.
    • The ability to store material temporarily on or off site.
    • The properties of the material: volume, weight, fragility and lifting needs.

    Follow-up in Projsite

In Projsite Intelligence, the metric is followed over time alongside the project’s other logistics data.
