    Transport CO2 Emissions

Transport CO2 Emissions is a Projsite metric describing carbon emissions from transport to and from the project.

    What is Transport CO2 Emissions?

In Projsite, Transport CO2 Emissions is an emissions measure tied to the project’s transport flow. It describes the climate impact of transports registered in that flow.

    What it measures

The metric covers transport, not the manufacturing of the material. It should be read as one part of the project’s climate picture, not the whole of it.

    Why it matters

Transport is the part of climate impact that logistics work can actually influence during production. Decisions about consolidation, load utilisation and the number of collections change emissions directly, and those decisions are made every week in the project.

    How to read the result

Absolute figures say little on their own. Emissions grow as the project grows. What is useful is the development relative to activity: if the number of transports grows faster than the volume of material, the flow is fragmented.

    Practical example

Two comparable projects receive the same amount of material. One has more and less fully loaded transports, and therefore ends up higher in emissions, without anyone having ordered more material. The difference lies in coordination, not in production.

    What affects the metric

    • The number of transports and how well they are loaded.
    • Distance, and whether consolidation is used.
    • Vehicle type and fuel in the supply chain.
    • The number of waste collections and how full the containers are when collected.

    Follow-up in Projsite

In Projsite Intelligence, the metric is followed over time alongside the project’s other logistics data.
